Dental
X-Rays
Are dental x-rays safe?
Yes. Dental x-rays do expose you to a
small amount of radiation, and Dr. Lockwood
takes precautions including using high-speed
x-ray film and a lead blanket to limit
your exposure.
Are dental x-rays necessary?
Yes, it is impossible to treat and prevent
dental problems without x-rays.
How do they help?
Dental x-rays allow Dr. Lockwood to find
problems when they are smaller and easier
to treat. Also, x-rays show developing
problems inside the jaws that are impossible
to see otherwise.
