A Heritage of Dentistry

Dr. Lockwood's grandfather, George L. Lockwood, graduated in 1923 from the University of Michigan College of Dental Surgery.

Dr. George Lockwood taught at the Dental School briefly after graduation and then set up a private practice in Hastings, Michigan.




Interesting Dental History Milestones:

1923 — American Association of Dental Schools is established.

1945 — The water fluoridation era begins when the cities of Newburgh, New York, and Grand Rapids, Michigan, add sodium fluoride to their public water systems.
