Bridges
What is a bridge?
A bridge is a fixed (non-removable) replacement
of a missing tooth (or teeth) that is
held in place by neighboring teeth.
Whom does a bridge benefit?
A bridge can be used to replace a lost
tooth or a group of teeth. Bridges are
recommended for those who wish a more
permanent solution than a removable partial
denture. Bridges are strong, attractive,
and comfortable. Bridges are not necessarily
the best treatment option for every situation,
so a thorough examination is indicated
to determine candidacy.
How is it done?
Bridges are made specifically to blend
with your surrounding teeth. The bridge
tooth or teeth in the middle can be attached
to the neighboring teeth by several methods.
Bridges typically take 2-3 appointments
to complete, and a temporary bridge is
placed between appointments.
